Tesla's Cell Engineering Team Is Looking For A Highly Motivated Engineer To Lead The Design And Development Of New Battery Cell Designs. This Role Will Serve As A Project Manager, Leading Efforts Both Within Tesla And With External Cell Manufacturers. You Will Use Your Engineering Skills To Work With Subject Matter Experts In Mobile Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing, And Supply Chain To Accelerate New Technologies From The Lab To Mass Production. To Be Successful In This Project, One Must Be Able To Work As A Team And Create Many Contributions To Achieve The Best Final Design.

What To Do

• Work With The Tesla Team And Cell Manufacturers To Make Key Engineering Decisions To Move New Cell Designs From Concept To Mass Production.
• Collaborate With The Design Team To Define Electrochemical Cell, Mechanical, And Operational Safety Requirements.
• Discuss Final Product Requirements And Specifications With Cell Manufacturers.
• Define Test Plans To Validate New Cell Designs And Identify New Failure Modes.
• Integrate Test Results Into Event-Level Impact And Report Regularly To Tesla Management.

What To Bring

• S. Or Above With Related Technical Training And 1+ Experience In Hardware Development.
• Advanced Levels Are Available For Those With More Experience
• A Strong Engineering Foundation And The Ability To Apply Previous Learning To Create New Problems.
• It Has Been Proven Successful In Working With Developers.
• Direct Experience In Lithium-Ion Cell Design, Cell Qualification, Cell Manufacturing, Project Management, Battery Module Design, And/Or Supply Chain Is A Plus.
• A Post-Fourth International Tour Is Expected.
• Excellent Communication And Writing Skills Are Required.
